    GLEMAD SAFETY

    Safety is the discipline of knowing what intelligence must not decide alone.

    Glemad studies how advanced security intelligence can remain bounded by evidence, authority, consequence, and human responsibility as capability increases.

    A system is not safe because it behaves well under ordinary conditions. It is safer when its limits remain visible under pressure.

    High-consequence environments expose the difference between apparent reliability and real assurance. Evidence becomes incomplete. Objectives conflict. Time compresses. The cost of a confident mistake rises.

    Our safety work begins there. We examine how models behave when signals are adversarial, context is missing, authority is disputed, and the correct response may be to stop.

    01MODEL BEHAVIOR

    Reasoning must remain open to challenge.

    A conclusion should expose its evidence, uncertainty, alternatives, and unresolved conflict. Inspectability is necessary for intervention before an error becomes an action.

    02AUTHORITY

    Capability does not grant permission.

    The ability to recommend or execute a response is distinct from the authority to do so. Permission must be explicit, scoped, revocable, and connected to named responsibility.

    03CONSEQUENCE

    The cost of action belongs inside the decision.

    Safety requires understanding service dependencies, blast radius, reversibility, and the people or institutions affected by failure.

    04EVIDENCE

    Accountability begins before deployment.

    Observations, reasoning, constraints, approvals, actions, and outcomes should form one record so assurance can be examined rather than asserted.

    Authority should narrow as uncertainty and consequence rise.

    This principle shapes evaluation, escalation, human review, reversible action, and the conditions under which a system must decline to proceed.

    Safety is a body of work, not a single policy.
